For breakfast I had French toast and a big ghost

Last week I shared the production notes I wrote up for the time I spent with Kris and Kyle recording in Atlanta earlier this month. I think there was some snafu with that getting sent out, so if you missed that long ramble, it’s here.

I’m embracing my penchant for constantly trying to figure out and explain what’s going on, and one of the ways that’s manifesting is in the form of regular updates to the “About” section of this Substack, so there are updates to be read over there too.

Alongside all that, I’ve been getting way into the collages lately. They’re getting more and more elaborate. The ones below are from a while ago and don’t totally reflect this shift toward greater complexity, but I’ve been putting some of the more complicated ones up on Instagram lately.

And, writing/recording the next album is progressing, I’ve written material that could end up being side A (though who knows how it’ll all get sequenced when all the songs are complete), and I’ve recorded half of that tentative-side-A material more-or-less to my satisfaction. I would like to have more time to work on writing and recording, but I feel good about the progress I’m making relative to the amount of time I have to invest. I have some album art in the works too as well as some fun (to me!) ideas for various obsolete formats (in addition to vinyl) for the release. I don’t have a timeline for the album, but I can’t imagine it will take me more than a year to get it all done and released; we’ll see!
