I have a lot to do and a lot to write about, and I can’t get to it all at once. I’m not complaining! Just saying. Here’s a round-up of things-in-process and things-to-come, in no particular order:
Some folks have sent me playlists and comments to help me with the bands I don’t like but should, and I’m excited to write up my reactions. Coming soon: Black Flag, Radiohead, the Smiths!
I’ve been making a lot of collages because I’m planning to put one in every copy of the album—Candy Macabre (exact release date TBD, but some time before June). I’ve got ~40 done, which leaves ~160 to go! Here are a couple:
And I’ll throw a few more NSFW and other collages on the paid feed.
I’m building a guitar that one lucky vinyl purchaser will win! A pic or two available on IG. More to come.
I put in the order with the pressing plant for the vinyl edition of the album. It should be in my hands by mid-April.
I signed a contract with the Asheville Mall to run a pop-up shop to promote the album. I’ll also write up a blurb on the idea with the pop-up soon.
I got a new (to me!) chord organ! I had one like this when I was a kid, and I love these things. Again, fodder for another essay.
I’m working on recording a cover of a Martha song. The best pop-punk band out of Pity Me, Durham.
My friend Kris mixed/mastered a song I wrote/recorded a few months back. It’s not on the album, but he did such a lovely job that I think I’ll release it as a single before the album drops.
I could go on, but that seems like enough for the moment. I’m having a great time, and I’ll keep working on this constellation of stuff until I feel done! Thanks for paying attention!
